🐞1: Products focused on what you & your family needs

We know how hard it is to find high quality and eco-friendly products that don’t break the bank. Our mission and vision comes from a place of love, for you, your family, and the whole world. We know that when you use a truly sustainable, ethically packaged product that is designed to help you feel and love your best from the ground up, you will have a happier and healthier tomorrow.

🐞2: Handmade with love, in the USA

Every bar of soap and cleaning product we make is made with intention. When we design, construct, and test our recipes, we always keep the people and the pets who will use our products in mind from the very beginning.

In addition, each bar is handcrafted in small, limited batches. No 2 soap bars will never look exactly the same. Every bar is cured in a special room for at least 5 to 6 weeks. This process ensures that your bar will last as long as possible. We are proud of our attention to detail and our customers know this. It has been difficult to keep inventory in stock because our limited, handcrafted soap batches sell out within days.

🐞3: 100% sustainable packaging

Here at Ladybird we make sure that all products are wrapped and shipped in 100% biodegradable and compostable packaging. When that is not possible, we make sure that they are reusable.

We also never use traditional plastic packaging, instead we use biolefin which breaks down into plant food and biomass. 

🐞4: Chemical free & all-natural

No LadyBird product will never ever have the following: 

  • Parabens
  • Phthalates
  • Sulfates that are generally considered hazardous such as: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, and Ammonium Laureth Sulfate
  • Formaldehydes such as: 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3 diol, DMDM, and 1,4-dioxane
  • PVP & VA Copolymers
  • PEG’s 

In addition, we will never use surfactants. You will always have a better shower knowing this because when they are washed down the drain they have been associated with suffocating wild fish. Surfactants are commonly found in chemical heavy and synthetic bars of “soap”. In particular, a surfactant is a compound that is designed to lower the surface tension between two liquids, or a liquid and a solid. They also help unnatural soap products foam. 

🐞5: Only food-grade ingredients
& natural colorants

Our philosophy is simple: if you cannot eat it, it should not be on your skin. Let’s face it, skin is the largest organ in your whole body, and it deserves to be taken care of. If you would never ingest a certain chemical, you should never put it on your skin.

We study each of our product ingredients carefully, and make sure they are ethically sourced as possible and completely safe, because they are all food grade ingredients. Because of this all of our products are completely non-toxic to children, pets, and adults alike.

All products that are made at Ladybird are colored using all-natural ingredients, which means that our products are a homerun for people who are sensitive to colorants. Our gentle formulas were designed for people who demand luxury and crave sensible eco-sensitive soap products. We don’t cut corners or greenwash while meeting that need.

Let’s face it, every day we use soap, detergent and cleaning products but the average person doesn’t actually know much about the effects of them on their body or the greater world around them. On our labels we don’t use any fancy chemical names, or Latin because we believe that you should know what is in our products. Unlike other companies, we don’t explain away what is in our products – we actually like to keep it simple from the beginning. We know that you know what is best for your and your family, we believe that we don’t need to explain it all to you because you can make decisions about what is best.

🐞7: We will never use any palm oil

The use and trade of palm oil is a complicated situation, and it is also one of the biggest modern crises of our times. Unfortunately, palm oil is in most products in the grocery store. Simply put, the extreme overuse of palm oil threatens the life of you, your family, and the world.

Palm oil is harvested through slash and burn agriculture. This means that to harvest palm oil the rainforest is completely clear cut and any remaining vegetation is burned down. This leads to the loss of animal life, and the displacement of thousands of people every year who were previously self-sufficient. This is a large reason why the earth is losing biodiversity faster than ever. Examples of animals directly at risk include tigers, elephants, and orangutangs.

Rainforests are the lungs of the world, and when they are cut down at such alarming rates oxygen is quickly replaced with toxins and enough carbon output in 1 year to rival a large 1st world country. Studies say that on average, 300 football fields of rainforest must be cleared out every hour to satisfy the palm oil craze. By 2032, they believe that 98% of the Malaysian rainforest will be cut down. In addition to toxins that are breathed in and the alarming loss of biodiversity, palm oil companies often use underpaid child labor. These children are often forced to work in abysmal and abusive conditions.

Here at LadyBird, we know we can do better as a global society, and you can help simply by not purchasing products with palm oil or palm kernel oil in them.

In short… We do all through love

Many people believe that the choice to be environmentally friendly is just about a distant shark or a polar bear’s life, and because of this many people do not care. We work to educate the consumer so they understand that if another living creature is affected by something that is toxic, our human family is too.

 

Ladybird’s products are so simple that they have become revolutionary. In addition to consumer education about  environmental importance, we also want people to know what’s in their products because it’s important. We believe in transparency. This is why we only sell chemical-free, all-natural products with no sulfates (that are made in America).

 

You’ll also never see any label that’s not for free with what’s in the ingredients.  There will never be any non-forthcoming generic “fragrance” label on any of our products. We also try to not use any fancy chemical words that leave people feeling confused — and if we do we try to explain what it is right on the label. It’s something that is important to our family, and we know that’s important to yours. We all deserve to know the truth and not be victim to any smoke and mirrors.
